Who is responsible

Lycia Journal is published by E. Tuncludemir. You can reach me at hello@lyciajournal.com. I am the controller of the personal data described below.

What data this site handles

• Server logs. Our host, Cloudflare, processes your IP address and basic browser details to deliver the site and keep it secure.
• Visitor statistics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics. It does not use cookies and does not track you across sites. We see page views and countries in aggregate.
• Email you send us. If you write to us, we keep your message and address to reply.
• Newsletter (only if you subscribe). Your email address, the date and the confirmation of your consent.

Why, and on what legal basis

Running and securing the site, and counting visits in aggregate, rests on our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Replying to your email rests on the same interest or on your request. The newsletter rests on your consent (Article 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time.

How long we keep it

Server logs follow Cloudflare’s retention. Emails are kept for up to 24 months. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe.

Who receives it

Cloudflare, Inc. (hosting and analytics) and Beehiiv, our newsletter provider (only if you subscribe). They act on our instructions. Some of their processing can take place outside the European Economic Area, under the safeguards they publish, such as standard contractual clauses.

Cookies

This site sets no tracking or advertising cookies. If you switch to dark mode, your choice may be stored in your own browser so the page remembers it. Nothing is sent to us.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, delete, restrict or export your data, and object to its use. Write to hello@lyciajournal.com and we will answer within one month. You can also complain to the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Autorité de protection des données, Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit), Rue de la Presse 35, 1000 Brussels, autoriteprotectiondonnees.be.
